A Ministry of Love

Helping those who are underserved in downtown Jacksonville, Florida

904 Sock Drop, a ministry of Arlington United Methodist Church, is supported solely through generous donations. Bombas Socks supplies us with socks—the number one item requested by people experiencing homelessness. Through our partnership with Bombas, we are able to provide Blessing Bags and other essential items.

We provide a service once a month to those less fortunate who are considered the “Unseen”. These individuals do not seek out assistance, shelters etc… We take our mission to them, setting up on street corners, distributing Bombas socks, food, blessing bags and clothing. Want to be part of this Ministry? Come join us to pack or travel with us as we bring love dignity and respect to help those in need.

 

Two Processes We Use:

1. “Pack” – Pack supplies @ AUMC Chapel

2. “Drop” – Meet at AUMC Chapel to load supplies, head downtown Jax, and distribute supplies to the “unseen”.

Our Last Outing – Downtown Jacksonville

Distributed fifty (50)+ “Blessing Bags” and interacted with forty-seven (47) people at the Beaver Street location. There were two additional families with multiple children that visited our location. Our next stop was near the church and food store just south of Main Street. We were able to serve twenty (20) + people at that location where we distributed fruit, snacks and the remaining Blessing Bags. In total, we provided seventy (70) + people with basic needs distributed with Christian love!

Interacting with those in need is truly a blessing. We go there to provide basic needs out of love, and we always leave feeling blessed by those we interact with.
